what does it mean to be creative
sometimes the term "creative" is thrown around in ways in shouldn't be.
people say "i'm not creative" or "i don't have a creative eye"
and in complete honesty, i was one of those people. for the longest time i told myself that my problem wasn't skills or knowledge, it was just that i wasn't creative.
it took me a while to figure out the truth about creativity, and how it isn't something you are born with. creativity, like anything else in life, is a skill that you can learn over time. it's something that is built by continually trying new things, learning, evolving, and always trying to see things in different ways.
me boxing myself in saying that i wasn't creative was the biggest barrier in my journey into becoming a creative.
it was only once i realized that it was entirely a mental barrier when i finally found the "creativity" that i had always said i lacked. it was once i faced my fear of failure and decided to start things i knew i would be bad at - just to learn and iterate for the future
creativity isn't bought, and it definitely isn't an innate skill. it's something that is built over the course of months and even years.
thanks a ton if you read this far, and if you'd like to work with me on a future project,
